Suggestions for RV parks in Gulf Shores AL

We are planning to go from TX to FL (Carrabelle Beach) this summer. We want to stop halfway most likely near Gulf Shores, AL. Any suggestions where to stay near Gulf Shores? We have a 39' 5th wheel. I've noticed a couple of parks are Motorcoach only. We also need it to be pet friendly.

There are many good choices in Gulf Shores. We did a week at Anchors Aweigh two yrs ago and would return. Camp on!

If you don't mind being a few miles north, check out Emmaus RV Resort. Pet friendly. www.emmausmotorcoachpark.com We stayed there on our Christmas trip 2 years ago. Beautiful setting, nice spots for your rig. There was a Christmas Eve potluck. We enjoyed our stay there & when planning another trip to Gulf Shores area, would definitely stay again. They also have a great military discount and have the Passport America discount.

If you are looking for a one nite stop. try Anchors Aweigh. Its a great place about 5 miles north of the beach. If you want to be close to the beach, try Luxury RV Park in downtown Gulf Shores.

If you want something a little smaller check out Bay Breeze. It is on the bay and the owners are real nice. No cable TV ans no satellite because of the live oaks but a nice plave

Concur fully with posts about Gulf State Park, but just to give some alternatives:

Fort Pickens Campground in the Gulf Islands National Seashore near Pensacola. Even better beach access than there is from Gulf State Park.

and

St. Andrews State Park near Panama City, also better access to the Gulf and nice campsites on Grand Lagoon.

Overnight reservations or a few weekday reservations should be possible in St. Andrews, but it might be hard to get week long or week-end spots even now.

X2...We stay here each summer. You'll us here the first week of June this year. Big park, lots to do close by and beautiful weather.

Gulf State Park, Gulf Shores, would be my choice.
