Summer campgrounds in Utah?

Around the first of August we are headed south out of Wyoming through Utah. Don't want to arrive back in Arizona sooner than we have to. Was thinking of jumping off I15 around Provo and heading south along the higher mountains. Anybody got any suggestion of places to stay for multiple days. Would prefer full hookups.
  • There is a good Sam campground in Delta Utah, about 40 miles west of I-15. Lots of trees, full hook ups. I live in Delta.
  • I recently stumbled across this place on 89 north of Mt. Carmel -- it looks like it might fit the bill? I don't know anything about it myself, but the photos are nice and it is well located for trips to Bryce and Zion and so forth:

  • i would check out Vernal,Utah and the flaming gorge area. some very beautiful places
  • I think you asked the same question in another forum which I answered. If not, I'd suggest the area of Heber City where you could easily explore Park City, Salt Lake City and the nearby Uinta Mtns. with your Jeep. Another area is Garden City/Bear Lake.

Cedar Breaks Nat'l Mon. and Bryce Nat'l Park are cooler temps.

    Hope you find your spot!
  • A bit farther north but we stayed at Brigham City KOA on the way to Tetons, the campground itself was nothing special but the area around it was nice and quiet, took a few mile hike on the roads nearby and saw like 3 cars total the whole time. Drive time from there to Tetons was just about right for a day's travel, 250 miles and ~5 hours.
