Texas coast campgrounds?

Looking to Visit Texas in Jan and part of Feb. Any recommendations for campgrounds along the water that are reasonable priced. We like historical areas and the water. We will eventually have to travel west to visit friends in NM so will look for campgrounds heading west through TX.

Any ideas of Texas campgrounds or "don't miss this area" would be appreciated.

X2 on Galveston.

From there I really enjoy the drive to Surfside on the Bluewater Highway. Swing a little north from there, cross the Freeport Ship Channel and south to Quintana Beach County Park. You can see it from Surfside but you have to go a couple miles north to find a bridge.

Heading west from there on I10 there are a couple of nice LCRA (Lower Colorado River Authority) parks on Lake Bastrop.

Mustang Island Campground is not open for camping.
I've been to all 50 States but my RV hasn't.

Here are a few things and places.
When you are coming down the Texas coast you will want to stop at Galveston Island. Look at Galveston Island State Park, 14901 Farm to Market 3005, Galveston, TX 77554, tpwd.state.tx.us, (409) 737-1222. Another place closer to town is Dellanera RV Park, 10901 Termini-San Luis Pass Rd, Galveston, TX 77554, galveston.com, (409) 797-5102.
While in the area you can go to The San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site, 3523 Independence Pkwy, La Porte, TX 77571, tpwd.state.tx.us, (281) 479-2431. At the same location is The Battleship Texas State Historic Site, 3523 Independence Pkwy, La Porte, TX 77571, tpwd.state.tx.us, (281) 479-2431.
Try Nonno Tony's Seafood Kitchen, 21 Harborside Dr #100, Galveston, TX 77550, nonnotonys.com, (409) 621-5100. Or across from there is another GREAT seafood place Willie G's Seafood & Steaks, 2100 Harborside Dr, Galveston, TX 77550, williegs.com, (409) 762-3030. Within walking distance are two more attractions The Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum, 2002 Wharf Rd, Galveston, TX 77550, oceanstaroec.com, (409) 766-7827. Allso within walking distance is The ELISSA at Texas Seaport Museum, 2100 Harborside Dr, Galveston, TX 77550, galveston.com, (409) 763-1877 The Elissa is an original sailing ship.
One other thing you can ride the ferry (for free) and watch the dolphins in the harbor. Did I mention there is lots to do on Galveston Island.
Further down the coast near Corpus Christi You can stay at Mustang Island State Park, or a favorite place of ours Lagoons RV Resort, 600 Enterprise Blvd, Rockport, TX 78382, lagoonsrv.com, (361) 729-7834.
Now you are in the area of The Padre Island National Seashore, 20420 Park Rd 22, Corpus Christi, TX 78418, nps.gov, (361) 949-8068. Be aware you canโ€™t drive to the south end of the island as there is a ship canal and no bridge.
South Padre Island is a great area. There are several campgrounds right at the tip. South Padre Island KOA Holiday, 1 Padre Blvd, South Padre Island, TX 78597, koa.com, (956) 761-5665. Cameron County Parks & Rec, 33174 State Park Rd 100, South Padre Island, TX 78597, cameroncountyparks.com, (956) 761-1293.
Donโ€™t miss Dirty Al's at Pelican Station, 201 S Garcia St, Port Isabel, TX 78578, pelicanstation.co, (956) 943-3344. It is on the western end of the causeway.
In the Valley all along I-2 are many Snow Bird campgrounds. From the coast, west.
The last time I was in San Antonio We stayed at The Admiralty RV Resort, 1485 N Ellison Dr, San Antonio, TX 78251, admiraltyrvresort.com, (210) 647-7878. They are just down the road from Sea World. When you have seen The Alamo and the Riverwalk. You should head up to Fredericksburg Texas.
Oakwood RV Resort, 78 FM2093, Fredericksburg, TX 78624, oakwoodrvresort.com, (830) 997-9817. Or Fredericksburg RV Park, 305 E Hwy St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624, fbgrvpark.com, (830) 990-9582.
Here is a must see. National Museum of the Pacific War, 340 E Main St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624, pacificwarmuseum.org, (830) 997-8600.
This is LBJ country and there are several sites to visit. Lyndon B. Johnson State Park & Historic Site, 199 Park Road 52, Stonewall, TX 78671, tpwd.texas.gov, (830) 644-2252. You can spend a month in the hill country and not see it all.
