Towing 38 ft Toyhauler into Yosemite

I wish to plan a summer trip to Yosemite and staying at Yosemite Lakes RV Resort as I am a TT member. After much research it appears hwy 120 is the best bet for me and to avoid Old Priest Grade! My question is will I be able to traverse the roads to the campground okay with the length of pull I have? The campground appears to be located in Groveland. I know it's some miles from one of the entrances; however, I'm hoping someone who has made this trip towing a fifth wheel with similar length has attempted this.

Thank you.

  • I took the new priest grade to Groveland in a 35 A pulling a toad. There is about 7 miles of switchbacks, and few decent pull outs going east. There are more when you are going down the hill. Just take it easy, you will have cars behind you, forget about them. Yosemite will be busy this time of year, but the views are tremendous. Go early in the morning and on weekdays if possible.
  • I hope this link to this video will paste: This is new priest grade. There must be another way in, this looks like Redwood Road in Oakland hills.

  • Although I am not in a 5th Wheel, I have seen them going and coming over Priest Grade.
