Hello All,

We are currently planning a trip out to Ann Arbor from PA in the fall. Going to be catching the UM/PSU football game, and just looking for any suggestions as to where to stay in the camper that is a relatively easy drive into town for gameday.

Also looking for any place to check out between there and cleveland as we will be spending the week. (Have a wedding Cleveland the next weekend, so looking for somewhere to vacation during the week between the football game and the wedding).

Thanks!

East Harbor SP is a great place to spend a few days visiting local attractions from a very nice campground. Close to Cedar Point, Marblehead Lighthouse, Johnson Island (Confederate Prisoner of War site), Put-In-Bay, Kelly's Island and Toft's ice cream.

awesome, thanks. lots to research this weekend...

i did give michigan parking a call and apparently you can now (well, not now but in a few months) reserve single game rv spaces at the high school, so thanks again for that I think we will definitely give that a whirl. nothing better than walking to the game from the camper.

as far as ohio campgrounds, i was just perusing the map looking for possible state parks since we always seem to enjoy our stay at those, and saw a few along lake erie. any input on east harbor state park? seemed nice. kelley's island looked even nicer but not sure i'm willing to pony up the cash to ferry the rv across.

Findley SP, about 25 miles west of Cleveland is nice. Another poster mentioned West Branch, that's also a goody.

Check out Geneva, Oh, about 50 miles east of Cleveland. There's a nice SP, and a few private campgrounds in the area like Indian Lake (Indian Lake is pricey, but a nice place for a few nights) or Willow Lake. Geneva is an old "resort town" with putt putt, boutiques, a cool little town. Wineries nearby, golf. I think your family would have a good time in the Geneva/Ashtabula County area.

Oh, Go Buckeyes ๐Ÿ™‚

The rv's can park at 11 pm Friday as stated on their website I gave in my previous post.

Penn State rv, they will not fill up Friday night. It is a very big lot.

Thanks Steve -- from what it looks like these cannot be reserved? Is there a line to get in on Friday nights? What happens if they fill up?

I own a house 1 block from the 50 yard line which I now rent out & park cars on the lawn for $35. I've been to 287 games in Michigan stadium. Pioneer High School has an rv parking area that is not cheap, but is good for 2 days:

Penn,

This area of Michigan is not loaded with campgrounds. The closest to AA is the Detroit/Greenfield (XKoa) in Ypsilanti. It is actually pretty nice and most is FHU, but the only reason I go there is to visit with friends passing through.

We still avoid AA on game days.

Pennstrv, this is a small quiet campground. Gravel road, but cement patio area. Also an fyi, there is rumors of this becoming a night game. Things have gotten expensive at the game, bring plenty of $.

Thanks Mfan, I'll check it out. You guys are having quite the resurgence, I can't say I'm very optimistic about the game, but I am excited to see the campus. Haven't been since I was a kid.

And thanks Bob, but we're trailering a couple of kids under 3 so for the time being I think amusements are out...

If you like amusement parks, Cedar Point, they once had camping on the lake. Sandusky, Oh
