Stayed at Wells Fargo RV park in Tombstone for a weekend once. It's right between Fremont & Allen St so you're right next to the action. The Park was well maintained but the sites were rather small.

The weather? It depends.... ๐Ÿ™‚ Each year is different.

If you go I'd recommend staying in Benson for touring Tombstone and Bisbee. It's lower elevation so will be warmer. Benson can still have cold nights .. 20's and 30's, but usually warms up during the day....50 deg to 70 deg.

Also plan on taking the Kartchner Caverns tour. They also have a nice campground.

Have a good trip. Lots of folks winter in Benson so it's doable.

We stayed at Kartchner Caverns State Park for a night this summer. Great CG, neat, clean,FHU and large sites. Not too bad a drive to Tombstone from there.

about 1 mile outside of Tombstone there is a park Called Tombstone Rv campground. We were there in May of this year. When we looked at it many years is was not the nicest place, but last Oct was bought out by Scott and he put over 1 Million dollars into it. Now it is really nice. Full hookups, people will take you to your spot and the people are really friendly. We are going to go back this May so we can go to Wyatt Earp days.

Some good suggestions here (I live in the area) - Benson (Butterfield), Roper, Catalina, Patagonia - you might have trouble getting into the state parks as they fill.

Headed to Tombstone Territories next week. Hope it warms up and bit. Snowed about 1" there today. Usually melts within a couple hours at that elevation.

Tombstone is nearly 5,000' and can be very cold in winter. Definitely take the Karchner Cavern tour but book your reservations well ahead of time, with the snowbirds here for the winter it is often booked up for weeks in advance. As noted, the large State Park CG there is nice.

Other winter CG options in the area include Patagonia Lake, Roper Lake and Catalina SP's. all are very nice and low enough to be doable all winter.
