Turkey Run SP in Indiana

Our group of 6 & the dog are headed there next month. We have our own tubes and two vehicles. We would like to do a short float (3+ mi.)through the park. Can we use the same put in and take out as the canoe company? Any suggestions? We are hoping for a dry spell.
  • I hope you get a dry spell too! We were there about a week ago & Sugar Creek was too high to allow any canoeing, kayaking or tubing. It will still probably be high & muddy when you're there - but that means no dragging through the gravel! :) I do strongly suggest wearing life jackets this year, in case you get separated from your tubes along the way.

Yes, you can use the same put-ins and pullouts. The canoe companies never act too happy about it, but it's public access.
  • Hmm… stayed at Turkey Run many times and never thought of tubing. Must be a good time. Usually there at Covered Bridge time, though.
  • We were there a month ago and as others have said the water was too high back then and the liveries were closed. I hope you have better weather than we did.
  • We had a great weekend. The water was good for floating but we didn't float. I did hike the two rugged trails with our two adult kids. Beautiful hike. The weather was nice. It was a lazy weekend. Nice and relaxing.
  • Good deal, Yes the hiking trails they have are pretty good. Glad you had a good time
