Munising is in Alger county and there are more waterfalls in that county than any other place in Michigan. Mackinaw Island is a great visit. No motor vehicles allowed there, except their fire truck, but horse drawn taxis and coaches are always available. It is an 8.5 mile bike ride around the island.
I'd also recommend a visit to Sioux Ste. Marie, MI. there are two parks there both on the St. Mary's River (the river connects Lake Huron and Lake Superior). the one we use and recommend is the Aune Osborn RV Park. this is a city park run by Sioux Ste. Marie. generous paved sites with water/electric. reservations are strongly recommended. many sites will have a nice view of the river and the lake freighters making the transit to/from Lake Huron to/from Lake Superior. the Soo Locks are nearby and offers a close-up look at how they function.
if you go be sure to configure your cellphone for no roaming on calls and data. you'll avoid international charges from the Canadian sites across the river.
