Hi all, Planning to travel to UP, Mi in a few weeks. Any recommendations on places to stay with 35 Ft Motorhome. We are FT now on our initial journey. Thanks.:C

Many State Parks that can handle a 35 footer. check Mich.org and you can reserve a spot online. You can also visually see the site online. Marquette has a Tourist Rv park that has full hook ups if you need that

Munising Tourist park can accommodate any size rig. It's on the water .

Take a look at the casino's. A few have RV parks and make good base camps. Lot's to see and do in the UP, but you have to slow down to enjoy the area.

There is a county park right on the river in Houghton / Hancock with full hookup. See the copper mine while their and the old fort in Copper Harbor ( state parks in this area). Also lake in the clouds. Mackinaw area is nice. There are a few is a campgrounds in the UP near it - one is Lakeshore Park Camground. There are also parks ( some state) near Pictured Rocks - do see this. Tahquamenon Falls state park ( do see the upper and lower falls) and other private ones. Good luck trying to get into state parks this time of year ( booked). Best bet is to google for private ones. Coming down into the LP very nice areas on the western shore. Petosky, charlevoix, Traverse city, all great places to stay.

There is so much in the Upper Michigan that I can not list it all.Grand Marais has a very nice little city park, Right on the shore of Lake Superior.. but my favorite is Tahquamenon Falls State ParkHowever they may have a problem with large rigs.. There are also some private parks in the same neighborhood that may be better able to handle big rigs.

On the way there, go up the west side of the lower peninsular. Ludington, Manistee, Frankfort, M22,Sleeping Bear, Traverse city, Petoskey are all great stops!!!!

Da Yoopers Tourist Trap and Museum can give you some laughs. Of course, we were last there about 25 years ago so it might have changed.

Yes we really loved Munising Tourist Park Campground. They now have FHU on the Lake. We loved walking the beach in the evening with the sunset. Pictured Rocks is beautiful. And definitely take a sunken boat tour.

A little info. We went the first week of July and it was cold! It was lower 50's the 4 days we were there. The last day actually warmed up to 62 deg!!!! I was checking and the week after we were there it was upper 80's. I've since read the Warner weather is usually late July and August. Next time I go it will be he first week of August. And I will rent a boat to tour both pictured rock and the island.

an enthusiastic X2 on all of that. one word of caution...if you go to Whitefish Point wear long pants and a longsleeve shirt. the flies are nasty and they bite.

I'm guessing that you meant Fort Wilkins State Park in Copper Harbor instead of Copper Mountain. I agree that it is a great spot to camp.
