Unhooking at Mama Gerties

We're heading up to NC today and we're staying at Mama Gerties. I've been told that the hill leading up to the campground is steep, is there a place to unhook the car at the bottom or what would you recommend?

If it is that big of deal, get a different campground, I did. Gerties is too steep for me.

Tom thanks for the tip! We unhooked at Harley Davison, worked out perfect.

The road is Patton Cove Rd; it is at exit 59.

If you are traveling east on I-40, you would turn right to get to Mama Gerties. If you are interested in the shopping center I mentioned, you would turn left. The stoplight is about 0.4 miles from the eastbound exit. Mama Gerties is a little further, say 0.8 miles, from the exit. It is Uphill Rd. Yes, you stay straight as Patton Cove road is making a sharp 150º right turn.

The road would Patton Cove we'd make a left on? Otherwise we'd make a right on Patton and stay straight to go on Uphill Rd.

If you prefer to unhitch on level ground, turn in the opposite direction from Mama Gerties. Turn left at the stoplight and you will see a shopping center on your left.

I just unhooked at the sign in. It is not that big a hill really. There are worse in yellowstone.
