Utah

This will be our 3rd year of Snow Birding :) We are planing on seeing National Parks in Utah Jan 2015. Was wondering if this Is this a good time of year for this state? Ken
  • Southern Utah, Moab, Four Corners, I've been there late September, early October, the weather is starting to change.

January? Utah is a winter sports mecca.
  • We were there in October and I agree that is a great time. Maybe even parts of November...just watch weather. Utah...needs a return visit from us.
  • Thanks Everyone, DW & I are reconsidering! now thinking Sept,Oct
If I wanted to drive in snow I would stay home :p

  • We went in early October and it was awesome there. We stayed in Moab most of the time (then the govt shut down :() It' IS close to possible snow season......so just keep an eye on the forecast.
  • Utah, the best powder on earth! That's one of the state's official slogans and it is not referring to the fact that the resident Mormons have lots of children and hence buy a lot of baby powder. There is a reason that the last Winter Olympics to be held in the USofA were held in Utah. It snows there, and it snows a lot.
  • Check out the Adventure Caravans Tour of the Western Parks which they do in September. Even if you don't sign up with their tour you can `borrow' the places they schedule as being worthwhile.
  • IF you the enjoy cold and snow........it's winter time
