I'll definitely have to go look for that one. - BB_TXNomadIf you enjoy the old narrow gauge steam railroads give the Cumbres & Toltec a try. You will enjoy it also. Take it from the Antonito end, just south of Alamosa.

It's already on the list. Along with the D&SNGRR it's the only remaining vestige of the Denver & Rio Grande's once vast narrow gauge network. - LynnmorExplorer

Thanks! - BarabooBobExplorer IIIMy daughter and I rode the Durango/Silverton Railroad trip when she was going to school at Fort Lewis College in Durango. It was a very pleasant trip and the staff were very well informed and nice to talk to.

Here's a video I shot back then of the gorge. This will illustrate why the train moves slowly through certain sections. :E
Yup, pretty much! :B Thanks for sharing the clip, Dan!dapperdan wrote:
Silverton is a fun town, we enjoyed that very much.
As did we. In fact, this marks the third camping season in a row that we ended up in Silverton, one way or another. We spent much more time covering the Silverton area in depth in our Million Dollar Highway episode. - dapperdanExplorerThanks First Tracks, that was an enjoyable ride. We were in Silverton and Ouray a couple of years ago but we didn't take the train. Beautiful area indeed.
I enjoy YOUR videos as well, very informative! :B
