We do see some low temps here but they have been short lived over the past few years. Who knows what to expect now with the ever changing climate changes.
Have tent camped and POPUP trailer camped along the Blue Ridge Parkway and in the SKYLINE Drive areas during the winter months. Does get pretty chilly at nights in the higher elevations. Alot of places here do close for the winter months so beware of that when expecting to find something open. Plan ahead...
Without extended cold spells I get away with blow-out winterizing here where we live in the northern neck areas close to the Potomac River.
Both I95 and I81 have good camp grounds along the way. Probably I81 has the better of them being more closely associated with the higher elevations here.
