Hello,

Is anyone aware of a campground in the Killington area with at least electric hookup and a shower house that is open now? State parks etc are all fine. We are thinking of making a run to millington to ski over easter weekend. Thanks!

If you can get by without hookups, try calling Killington to see if you can overnight in their parking lot. A couple years ago I had to attend a program at a ski area in VT and called - they had no issues - even had a designated area for RV parking. Unfortunately my program was cancelled, so I never did go, but it's a possibility... ST

There are a total of three campgrounds in Vermont that are open for winter, so far as I am aware. They are the Shelburne Camping Area in Shelburne; the Running Bear Campground in Ascutney (and that only for seasonal residents, not transients, during the winter); and Crown Point Camping Area in Perkinsville. Crown Point would be the nearest to Killington, but it's not really close.

The state parks do not open until May, and do not have any hookups at the campsites.

Other than state parks, the closest I can think of is Sugarhouse in Plymouth, VT.

Going to be lucky to find anything open anywhere before May.

The Quechee KOA opens May 1st and closes October 20th. Not much around in late winter. Killington tries to stay open as late as they can, but the Northeast is having a very mild winter so be sure to call ahead whatever you decide...

Bottom line - no. There are actually no campgrounds near Killington at all, except Gifford State Park, and all VT State Parks have no hookups. The State considers the parks open in the winter, but the gates and bathrooms are closed and roads are not maintained, so essentially, tenters could walk to a site, but that is it.
