"We have been rv'n for 23 yrs and have never stayed at a wal mart or any other parking lot. We're certainly not rich. But figure if we can afford a rv we can afford to stay in an rv park. Besides who wants to be rousted out in the middle of the night and forced to move..No parking lots for us."
We used Walmart once in Texas when we ran way behind schedule on a travel day. We were supposed to stay at a COE CG but at 9 PM were still 20-30 miles away from it, on secondary roads too. The gate would have been locked too.
So we stopped at a Walmart parking lot. It was hot and noisy so I can't say we enjoyed our stay. But it was better than the alternative. We tried to find a commercial CG close by but could not. So I'm glad that they are available if something like that happens again. But I would not plan to stay in one.
