We've stayed at several Wal-Marts along the I-95 corridor. If there are other RVs or trucks parked, we don't bother asking. If there isn't anyone else, we usually try to track down security. If we don't see security, we'll go in and ask. We've called ahead a few times. Our last trip to NJ we called the Wal-Mart in Ownings Mills, MD to check if we could stay and the manager said the lot was too small (never saw a small parking lot at a Wal-Mart before). So we called the Wal-Mart in White Marsh and the manager said no problem, just park in the back.
We usually try not to bother the manager unless the Customer Service Associate doesn't know. The manager definitely has better things to do than be bothered with whether or not an RVer can park in the lot. Sometimes we shop in the Wal-Mart, other times we don't.
