Walmart Parking Directory?

Does anyone still maintain the "free overnight parking" directory for Walmart stores? (And, YES, I did already try to search for it in the forum.) The link I had before doesn't work anymore.

When we went on a long cross-country trip a couple years ago, the directory was invaluable for finding a place to spend the night and stock up on when we were in "travel mode".

I do see that there is a directory now that we can buy. Guess that's an option!

Thanks in advance.

You can't camp in W-Mart only get a few wicks, hello

What are WICKS???? Hello!

And I am sure you dont think that I mean to put out the canopy, set up the grill, build a campfire and roast marshmallows when I say "CAMP". No need to be a wise guy. How about if I ask if it is allowed to run a generator when parking your RV overnight at a Walmart?
I don't camp in peoples front yard.
So big a world, so little time to see.

If no one is parked near you and you have a quiet generator , I do not see a problem .

If there are other RVs parked nearby and/or you have a loud contractor type generator then NO .

Google " No Overnite WalMart Parking" . A list of 600 stores that can be saved in .pdf will appear .

Most of these stores are located in areas that have passed legislation against any overnite parking
and have no choice but to follow the law . These laws , at least in my area , have been in response
to long term abuse and complaints by campground owners . If the WalMart store is located in a shopping center that is not owned by WalMart , then the REIT / shopping center management sets the policy .

I assume the casino site you mentioned is Casino Camper.

Are you familiar with Free Campgrounds and Free Campsites?
They may have something you can use for an overnight stop if a WalMart is not available.

There are other sites for free/cheap overnighting. Just do so a little researching.
Enjoy your travels.

Thanks. I did several searches on Google and never came up with the right combination! But, using 2oldman's suggestion, found Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks. So, I'll share...

http://halberstadt.macmate.me/Walmart/Walmarts.html

Supercharged - Mostly we wanted a place to pull in at dusk, maybe shop, eat dinner, sleep and pull out first thing in the am. We weren't looking for an "experience". I know there's a group that shares backyards and driveways.

I also found a great site for Casino parking. We've used casinos a lot. (And, I like to gamble!)

To hijack my own thread... if anyone is familiar with Harvest Host, I'd love feedback on that too. I see other questions about them, but no definitive answers yet. They sound much more like sharing an "experience" than just an "overnight parking place."

Thanks to all!

Bob,

If you have a smartphone, you can find an updated Walmart Parking App that shows the closest Walmart that permits overnight parking.

The Allstays Camp & Rv is the best for this, and it also includes campgrounds, dump stations, along with WalMart overnight. If you just want Walmart parking without all the rest, AllStays Walmart Camping is the one to get.

Available for Android and Iphone.
