Can anyone suggest a good campground for a trip in Feb-March 2014. We hope to stay about 6 weeks in a nice place with full hookups. We would like to be within 50 miles of Sarasota near the coast. Thanks, gaf
I would also agree with Riverside. We are planning to camp there this winter for a week in late January so we can check it out, but it's come highly recommended by several posters as well as at RV Park Reviews.com.
Below is a website that you can use to sort through lots of RV parks in and around the Sarasota area. Just scroll down the list of Florida cities for some in the area you're looking. Click on the city and you'll find campground info.
A third vote for Riverside. We are going back for our 13th year. Good facilities, many activities, great staff, and the best snowbirds in North America!!!!!

Lot of pictures, videos, list of activities.
Oh, I forgot, many restaurants, but you are living in a green area. No traffic lights to Walmart (5 mile)

I would recommend Riverside RV Resort & Campground which is located between Port Charlotte and Arcadia on Kings Hwy. Located on the Peace River - 800-795-9733.
On my last visit, I stayed at Sun N' Fun on Fruitville Rd. Exit 210 off I-75. 2 miles east. From the CG to the beach go 10 miles west on the same road. Beautiful wide white sand beach.
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.
