If it were me, I'd get setup at Kelly's and spend a few weeks getting acclimated to the area. You might stay there or find that some other place suits your needs better. There's not much going on in White Springs, but as you've mentioned, Lake City isn't far. Tallahassee isn't too much further either, but probably not ideal for a daily drive.
