Why I hate KOA

Actually looking on RVparkreview they seem to have dropped their prices back down from a couple a years ago when they seemed to start at $60

I've pretty much written off any wifi at any park. For $47 a night, I would expect at least a concrete pad, FHU and decent water pressure.

The most recent price listed at RVParkReviews was $38 for last month. That might be with a KOA VIK card discount though. The other FHU park listed for Holbrook shows a $35 price, and a description that doesn't sound a lot different than the KOA.

Sorry for the bad experience. I agree water pressure is frustrating. I guess my perspective is every park is different. I've only had decent wifi a couple times and both were KOAs. They restricted number of devices per campsite but it kept speed up to usable bandwidth rates.

I've had bad experiences at KOA too but I take each park on its merits including price relative to the local competion and make a judgment from there.

I stayed at an independent RV park a couple years ago and it was way overpriced for what you get. As a result I hate all independent RV parks. :R

OP...if it fit your 'schedule' why complain....it was your choice. You had other choices.

We use KOA's on occasion usually because of 'convenience'...like an overnight or nothing else around...and I don't complain about an overnight that I chose.

When will people learn that the excesses of others make wifi unusable for most of us

Man, some of you guys are CHEAP and SPOILED!

Its very difficult find any sites that I desire on major trips under $45 unless I'm at a State Park. Low water pressure might be worth a complaint, otherwise the rest of the rant is very trivial and is typical of many grounds.

Regarding KOA's, when I'm on the road I HIGHLY prefer and seek out KOA's. I have stayed at dozens of them and have another 6 lined up for next Summer's trip.

I like KOA's super easy to use online booking system, most with 12 month or better lead time booking, and I've never had any problem worth complaining about at any of them. Not even the "destination" geared grounds where most stay only one night.

I agree $47.00 is not outrageous during peak season it's down right cheap in my area.
Poor WIFI, no concrete.:h Doesn't sound to bad too me.
If I disqualified everyplace with poor wifi or gravel I'd have to stay home.

We do not camp at KOA campgrounds at all, not because we hate them just seems like there is enough others like Good Sam CG that we do not need them.

We have camped at thousand trails that do not have cement or asphalt and the sites are at best stone filled pads with low water pressure had to use to sets of boards to get level and it cost me $48 a night because I wasn't a member nor will I ever be ...

Another(thousand Trails) we stayed at with friends you had to go to their shelter/game room to get any WIFI and again the pads were a light dusting of dirt an stone, low water pressure an $55 a night, never went back ... In fact down the road 8 miles was a RV park that had asphalt pads, shade trees on every site, good water pressure, WIFI thought out the park and was only $40 a night and if you stayed 5 nights the 6th was free ...

We mostly pick out the 4 and 5 star GS Camp grounds and have pretty good luck, but 98 percent have gravel pads and the WIFI is sometimes good and other times not at all even thought they say they have such.

One GS CG stated they had WIFI and had the password etc posted on their white broad behind the check-in desk, we ask why we could not get any WIFI only 40 yards away form the office, they stated if you sit in their small restaurant you could get it there.

I have to laugh when I see OP complaining about not having cement or asphalt pads for $35 or $40, in our many travels we have only had such maybe three times and it cost us $50 at two an over $70 a night at the other one ..
