Wiliamsburg KOA

I've stayed at the "Quiet Side". Here's the deal. There are two KOAs next to each other. Maybe the same owner, I don't know. They're about 300 yds. apart. The "Quiet Side" has a lot of mature trees and other than FHUs, that's about it. It tends to appeal to singles and couples without kids. The other one has FHUs, a pool, play area, etc. and draws families with kids. You can't share the facilities. I really enjoyed the "Quiet Side", except when the thunderstorm hit in the middle of the night. Then both places lost power for about 30 minutes.

Not sure where the "quiet side" is. We stayed in the Colonial section, site E-3. Level pad, patio, a little close to the neighbors and on the road to the rest of the sites, so it was a little busy. We'd probably stay there again. I'm guessing it's not the quiet side though.

The quiet one is the first one you come to from I-64 on Newman Rd. Called KOA - Colonial Central. The second one is 500 yds. farther down on the same road and is called KOA - Williamsburg. I didn't call it the quiet side - the OP did.

The quiet side came directly off of the KOA reservation site.

Check out American Heritage. You may like it better.

Agreed - never stayed in the other half, but the Colonial side gets pretty lively during peak weekends. But it has more young kid activities, so it makes sense.
We used to camp there twice a year for trips centered around kids spending most of the time in Busch Gardens. Staff has always been friendly / helpful and overall experience has been good.

We like American heritage.

As do I. But on my first RV trip to Williamsburg, I tried the KOA. Its acceptable as are most KOAs as I travel, but I like American Heritage better.

We had used Williamsburg KOA for our stopover (usually 3 nights)on our north/south trips until last spring - what a disaster - . But thats a story for another day.
We now use American Haritage.
