Winegard crank-up with Shaw Direct?

We have a Minnie Winnie with a crank up Winegard dish on the roof. Does anyone have experience with being able to use this type of dish with Shaw Direct service?

We have used the crank-up successfully with our home service from Bell ... provided we have a campsite with a good opening to the sky. We are considering the Shaw Direct service as we will be traveling more including to the US and have heard/read that Shaw is now the only solution for Canadians wanting to see Canadian programming; Curling, etc.

We hope to use the crank-up with the Shaw box for locations where we have a good line of sight to the sats and a Shaw portable dish on tripod when there is too much tree cover. Has this worked for anyone out there?

Does it matter what type of Shaw box we get? The PVR box requires 2 cables which I don't believe the crank-up has the ability to handle. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I would give Shaw a call or send them an E-mail to get their answer. We've had older receivers and LNB's at home and on the road, all had the elliptical dish and the skew needed to be adjusted to get all the channels. It could be because of the difference in polarization that Shaw uses compared to the other sat TV folks.

The main component is the correct LNB to go along with Your Receiver! You will need one of the earlier series receivers and LNB in order to use a Round Dish. The Later series 600 Receivers require an Elliptical Dish with an adjustable Skew!

I should have added that We have gone through Three different series of Shaw/ Star Choice LNBF and Receivers.

The Earliest one had a Skew Adjustment right on the LNBF. They used an almost Round Dish which was slightly Taller than it was wide!

There was a second dual LNB unit which We upgraded to that used an elliptical dish

The Later Elliptical Dish came with the Second Series of Receivers ( To Us ) the LNB has 2 Horns and 4 outputs and was then a Fixed item and the Dish adjusted to correct the Skew.

The Third Series uses a Triple Satelite LNB with 4 outputs!
