This is the biggest water park in the country. been going here since it opened in the late 70`s early 80`s? went over the weekend and found they are now charging $5 a car for parking. if that is not bad enough they took away all the shade for eating! they turned them all into Cabanas that cost extra to use for the day. so if you want shade you have to pay for it! I`m thinking we are not going back! Next thing they`ll do is take away the water fountains!

Being a Wisconsin transplant from Ohio (by way of IL), I have to correct your lingo by saying that you don't mean "water fountains," - in Wisconsin they are "bubblers." ๐Ÿ˜„

Honestly, it sounds just like any other amusement park to me! I just went to Michigan's Adventure with the family. Cost us $10 to park and $80 for lunch. You're not allowed to bring in any outside food or water.
This has been the same for the past 7 years so I expect a price increase shortly. We'll still go back.

Unfortunately, it seems pretty ordinary to me.

Agreed.

Disney World charges what I consider to be outrageous prices, so I won't go. The funny thing is their parking lots are still very full of people who will pay. More power to them. I hope they have a great time.
On what basis do you feel the price is "outrageous". There is obviously no comparable facility in the world to compare it to. Disney is a profitable company, but not out of the ordinary. Their net operating income is approximately 22% of revenue, so 78% of your ticket price goes to covering the cost of all those people in the Goofy and Mickey costumes and the cost of all those rides, fireworks and other attractions. If making 22% markup on your product is being outrageous, there are a whole lot of companies that you will find offensive.

I NEVER mentioned profit nor is it part of any buying decision for me. The price of the gate admission is too much for me. Simple as that. I am not knocking Disney nor the people that enjoy it.

I just don't want to "pay the price at the gate." I just do not receive enough value for my bucks, personally. I have the same position for Sea World, and Orlando Studios.

I do agree with you on covering everything! don`t forget the free transportation, all that landscaping (everywhere on Disney property), and lots of other things that we take for granted! I still say though they don`t need to gouge as bad as they do! but were not talking Disney here, were talking about the biggest tourist destination in the Midwest (the Dells).

Back on topic.

We camp all over the Dells area. Jellystone, OK except for the hwy noise if your up front. Sherwood Forest, never again! Stayed at Holiday Shores 2 years ago, also nice. An this year at Stand Rock campground, this is by far the nicest so far.

Stand Rock is another very nice campground. We camp at KOA and have a site on top, only in October and really no problem with the trains.

LOL! Yes we have been. We walked through one of the stores in the campground. I forgot how much, but a 6 pack of Miller was around $12. That was back in 2011, glad i brought enough for a week!!!
