1 long we week left. Then off to Fort Wilderness, then Fort Desoto, then River Ranch, then Jetty Park.

Any ideas of things to do inside near Fort Desoto if we have rain?
Any general ideas for things to do around Jetty Park (relax sounds good to me).
Anyone else at The FORT next week?

We have girls 3yrs and 5 yrs old.

Elon Musk announced a Falcon rocket launch for Dec. 19th. at the Cape. Can be seen from west coast to east coast but REALLY good from Jetty Park.

Yes we are staying at the fort. We were there this same time last year. We arrive the 12 to 21. Just loaded the camper with Christmas lights and decorations.

After Disney then we head to the beach.

we are heading to Disney on the 12th. We will be there from the 13th to the 21st. I can't wait. this is the 3rd time we have camped at Fort Wilderness. Is that where you are staying? I here it is decorated for Christmas. My family is a little order. My wife and I will be taking our 25 year old daughter and our 20 year old daughter who is bringing a collage friend. The kids will be in the parks all the time. For me I can stay in the campground and be happy,
Hope you have a great time

We were just in the Ft. Desoto area last month and our 5 y/o son wanted to see Winter and Hope from the Dolphin Tales movies. They're at Clearwater Marine Aquarium about a 40 minute drive north of Ft.Desoto. Not a bad option for a rainy day. You can see it all in about 4 hours. http://www.seewinter.com/

Best thing to do at Jetty Park is watch the ships coming and going. The kids would love Ron Jon's Surf Shop in Cocoa Beach. Stop at the peir in Cocoa Beach while youre there. Take some time and drive to the locks on the top end of the port and look for Manatees. If you like seafood Fishlips at the port is a great place, easy bike ride from Jetty Park. kSC is awesome. At the Titusville airport they have a great Warbirds Air Museum.

Nothing really for indoor activities very close to Fort DeSoto that I know of. You will likely be heading into St. Petersburg proper for any indoor activities.

When you're at Jetty Park, if you like BBQ, be sure to go to Madd Jacks Grillin Shack, a few miles down the road toward Cocoa Beach. Beef is excellent; pulled pork even better.

Kids might be a bit young for the Kennedy Space Center Tour, and it's a bit pricey, but you're close by. Watching the cruise ships go in & out should appeal to the kids. Schedule is available online.

EDIT TO ADD: The Kennedy Space Center rocket launch schedule is also online. Easy viewsing from the beach if one coincides with your stay, a little more effort to watch from Kennedy.
