Yogi Bear campground in Caledonia Wisconsin lhas ow voltage

We stayed at the Yogi Bear Campground in Caledonia Wisconsin last week and found that the electric voltage is very low. When we returned from a day away we found the camper hot and the electricity off. Fortunately the power was off because our power monitor had detected low voltage and disconnected. The voltage would rise to 104 volts and the power would be restored only to drop below 103 volts and the monitor would drop the electricity again. After a number of well meaning but unknowlable staff looked at the situation they called an electrican. He found that the voltage at my camper was 95.5 volts. My neighbors without a voltage monitor were triping breakers. Their sulition was to use a 30 to 50 amp adaptor. This was a bad becision. Now their AC unit was trying to run on very low voltage and not triping the breaker. Both legs of the 50 amp service had low voltage. If your not using a device that monitors you voltage you are gambling. Mine saved my AC unit.
  • I haven't been back to that Jellystone (Caledonia) in years! Not for the electricity problem, but because they told my wife that her dad would need a separate site. Something about only immediate family. And yes I went over it in detail with them!

The only Jellystone I won't be back to!
  • We discovered other reasons for never returning to Jellystone/Caledonia back in 2011. Nice park but way overpriced for what you get. JMHO
  • When staying at Tahoe Valley RV Resort & Campground our protection unit shut off the electricity for low voltage also. When I went to the park owner was told that they were aware that there park had low voltage any time it was hot and the park was full and there was nothing they could do about it. There explanation was that when the electrical system was designed it was designed for one AC at each site however now with RVs having two or three AC the system could not handle the demand and they did not need to tell customers of low voltage conditions,
  • We used to live near there. They have had low voltage at that park fir many many years.

Did you tell the park about the problem

Yes. This is from my original post: "After a number of well meaning but unknowlable staff looked at the situation they called an electrican. He found that the voltage at my camper was 95.5 volts."
