Yuma

to us Gold prospectors and rock and gem hounds, Quartzsite is the best. The local metal detecting club has 10 claims you can use if you belong where gold has been found. Its not just a******shoot of heading out to the desert and not finding anything all winter. An area is all what you make it, what you like to do, and plenty of sightseeing nearby. Tour west america out of Yuma has some great trips in the winter.
Big box shopping and eating out 5 times a week are not for us. Everybody is different. So we travel to Yuma, Lake Havasu, Parker and other points but thoroughly enjoy the people and town of Quartzsite.

You might try calling a realtor, some of them manage rental properties. I know Billie Ward of Yuma Phone 928-580-9468 has some really nice lots she manages.
Good luck and it is not hard to find a really nice lot to rent.

We stayed at Cocopah Resort and it was a good place as long as you follow all the rules. God help you if you go the wrong way on their one way streets even if it is only 3 sites in.
My son lives in Tucson and said .Why go to Yuma. We said the same thing at the casinos.Why do we go we never win, a Canadian said. We said there little else to do. LOL
We've gone across the border there and they treat you far different then in Texas. Heck they even limit the booze you can bring in there.

We've stayed in several places in Az and think Casa Grande was about the best all around spot. About an hour + to Tucson. We also liked Tombstone area.

We tend to stay at several spots across the US in Winter all have something good and many have to many bads ie: Quartzville to us sucks, really sucks unless you are going for survival.

I read there was a new 99 cent store in the Foothills and the old Fry's store is a great location with good parking. Yippee!!!!!

I vowed last year that I would not go back to Yuma, but after I got home the snow would not end then the floods and after a fairly cool June and July I decided that Yuma might be better this year than last year which was fairly cool. I only go for 2 months, Jan,Feb.

The real reason I am going back? I miss the 99 cent store!!!!

No, the emena tube will go in near Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada. Proof??? Many people from Cold Lake snowbird in Yuma and think it is the best place going? :R. This includes a good freind who loves it there.

Personally, I'll stick with Gold Canyon, AZ! Great scenery, lots to do, relatively clean air. Water is not great, but who cares when you have an RO.

I believe we are neighbors at CVRVR. We are one street over on 18th. Chris
