Zephyr Cove Lake Tahoe

Would have been smarter to post this question, before I booked 5 nights at $90 per, on a non refundable basis. (YA THINK)

But wanted to go some place "cool" with the 8 year old GD.

Any comments suggestions or things to do would be welcome
  • Very nice park but yes a little spendy. Have stayed there a few times. Nice beach right across the street. She might enjoy the stern wheeler cruise which is also right across the street.
  • It has been 5 years since we were there, but there was a boat excursion on the lake leaving across the highway from Zephyr Cove Campground.

And the Cinnabon place near the gondola is enticing.

We enjoyed the casinos also, but that is out for you.
  • I think that the OP said that he had already booked his sites. I would suggest that you might want to go shopping at the mall at the base of the gondola, eat lunch at the top of the gondola and if it's open take the chair lift up from there and ride the zipline down. There are several other things there that would b entertaining to an 8 y/o also. Horse back riding, swimming in the lake, boat rides, etc. But then I'm assuming that this is a summer trip.
Have fun and we may be heading there in September to visit relatives.Last time we were there,we stayed at the KOA with a 35' TT and the Excursion and it was really a serious PIA getting around the campground and into and out of the campsite. Had some other problems also, enuff of them to say stay away from that place. It's the only KOA,except for West Sacremento also, that I'd say that about.
