12V exterior wiring options - conduit etc....

I'm currently installing a rear camera and two powerful led reverse lights on my Scotty fiberglass motorhome. I'm trying to install them above the rear center window, and the unit has a rear bath. I was wondering if there's an exterior conduit product that will allow me to cover the wires without adding an eye sore. I need it to hold 3 14 awg stranded wires, and one video cable. I looked at the existing clearance lights as a passage into the coach, but it seems I will have to take the ceiling down to do this properly. The other option I can think of is running small white pvc pipe across the outside top, and turn it to the inside of the bath as a conduit, and drop it down the shared wall of the kitchenette and shower.

I welcome all ideas here. I need the Camera mounted high as I often pull a small enclosed trailer.

Thanks in advance

If it doesn't take some swear words, you aren't doing it right!
  • Thanks for the advice everyone! I was able to mount it below the center marker light, run the wire up 2" into the maarker housing, and drill a hole in the bath vanity that's centered over the window. From there, I went to the passenger side closet behind the head, and fished them in the conduit on the floor - around the shower, and to the kitchenette on the drivers side. It took some swear words, but I got it done!
  • If you start running these external wires etc instead of inside you can decrease the value on re-sale. Check out the RV shops. They had to completely rewire my previous TT and they didn't have to run exterior wires.

If you are set in running external wires then google "Wiremold".

I'm not set on it, I'm really looking for a better solution than that. These things are a lot tougher to wire than I imagined!

If your Scotty is similar to the above, you might be able to remove a tail light and run a fish tape up to one of the clearance lights and pull wires down.

I wish! The back of mine has a radius just above the tail light.

  • No way I would run the wires on the outside but if you do look into Panduit brand plastic conduit.
