5th Wheel Flag Pole Mount

I have to brag on my father-in-law for a minute, his latest project turned out really good. He fabricated/welded/bolted a hitch receiver to the front of his 5th wheel for use with a Wonder Pole flag pole.

Got my Flag Pole Mount installed on the RV today. I love the mount design idea modified it to use a full size 2' receiver bar. Cut out the design using cardboard taped to the bar and took it to a friend, Andrew Mazza, who cleaned it up and welded the mount for me. I think it turned out really great.

Here you go. Just some angle iron and a hitch extender welded together then bolted on.

Here's More pics.

Angle irons were welded to the pin box with nuts welded to backside to accept stainless bolts. Lamp brackets bolted to top of pin box.


The bracket is 2" X 2" square aluminum tubing. The pole holders on each end are 2" ID by 12" long to accept the telescoping flag poles



Power for the lights is provided from the battery wire on the 7 pin plug.

Since I already have a pin box mount I made for my bike rack, which is a 2" receiver, You've just given me a great idea to copy. Grat way to show our colors! Thank you!

Had one mounted on the front too but after the DW could not sleep with the 'flapping' overhead had to remove it. Now fly it from the back of the 5er.

I have a similar setup. I have used the 2 inch receiver to haul my bicycle.

I have a magnet base LED lantern that I use to light my flag at night. I leave the light on day and night. The LED has a very small current draw.

I love the Wonder Pole. I have a section of 3 inch sewer pipe under the trailer that I store the pole in.

I had him purchase a landscape spotlight from superbrightleds.com as well as an in-line photocell to turn it off and on. Hooked it directly into the 12v battery system.
