Add-on fridge fan switch

Appealing to the brain trust here for sources of a thermostatic fan switch for fridge exhaust fans.
Plan to add two 120MM computer fans to the top of the cooling stack just under the roof cover. Instead of a manual on/off switch would like to use a thermo controlled switch.
Have found this one-eBay # 111137941550 and would like to know if anyone can recommend a better value from anywhere else.
This is a two door 2011 Dometic fridge, not in a slide out .
Thanks in advance,
Mike
Sorry for the link to the eBay item it came out as a phone # link and I can't seem to change that .
It is a good number for the item.

i think i'll do both-add an on/off switch and a thermo switch. plans right now are for 2 120MM fans at the top to suck hot air up and out. working on the inside the box fan now.
    thanks again,

  • .

Like a few folks, I bought / installed "silent" 12V computer fans and installed on my RV's rear fridge coils as well. Simply buy and attach using plastic pull ties. For my setup, I installed with manual OFF/ON switch. My wife likes to turn off at night - since silent is only near silent (and sound does travel at sleep time). For my next RV, I'd do this install again. For my setup, 12V computer fans push fresh air around its coils. It gets air moving and does keep its rear cavity slightly cooler.

Knowing what I know today and for my future RV, I would also install a 12V thermostat controlled fan within its roof vent area. Thus, sucking hot air within its cavity up / out its top vent. This spring, I plan to buy a bundled product (re: large size fan, manual off/on switch and thermostat system) and install on my RV's flu).

re: - click here for 12V wired product - and - click here for solar power product -

Do shop around because selling prices do dramatically vary.

Long mumblings short... Do both upgrades. re: Simple 12V computer fan on the rear coils, and fan in the vent flu area (to suck the circulating hot air up / out its roof vent).

    Hope this helps..

Bitter cold here in Ky now but when it gets warmer I will post a full write up.

There is no cost or fees for this site. You do not have to belong to Good Sam
  • I believe on at 100 and off at 85 is what most fridge fans are set for temp. The computer fan probably best way to go. The RV fan that is sold by Valterra has bad revues.

  • I have a 80° switch on my fans. Not sure 80° is correct temperature to turn fans on. But so far it has worked well for me. Especially when sun is shinning on side of MH. You can get them cheaper on Amazon. Thermo Switch.
