Air Up - Air Down Manifold

I actually made this to use on our van when we go surf fishing - we have to take the tires from 70 psi down to 20 psi for traction in the sand, then bring them back up to 70 when it is time to go home - but it also makes short work of airing up the trailer tires after storage and insures that all are the same pressure.

One hose fastens on each valve stem, then you can use the Schrader valve or fifth valve to air up or down as necessary. Built in valve lets to see the pressure, and separate valves for each hose let you set the front different from the back if desired. About $110 in parts, and nicer than the commercially available ones I have seen.

Mostly on Amazon, and the hoses from Q Industries. I hope these pictures work ...

  • I have the 2WayAir Kit from RockSmasher Engineering and makes airing up and down your RV super easy! Their website has a pretty good article in Motorhome.com. You can air up or down all your tires at the same time from one central point, cut my airing time from over an hour to about 10 min and never had to get on my knees
  • That on board system is really nice, but I would have needed three systems - one for each of my 4x4's and one for the trailer - that is why I wanted to go with a "portable" system. If you want one off the shelf, here is a good web site that has many options:
