Closet organization

We have a closet that was designed originally for a washer and dryer. Didn't need that option as space was a more important commodity for us. AS it turns out, the closet is now used to store camping chairs, among other odds and ends.

I like to store the chairs on end, flat against the interior walls of the closet when on the move. Unfotunately, they flop around in this position. Does anyone have a good method by which to secure the chairs? I was thinking of lining the interior three walls with a long, single length of bungie chord that I would fix to the walls every 12" or so. Any ideas? Thanks.
  • We carry our chairs in an outside compartment and I use the washer/dryer closet for many other things. Not all the closets are alike. Mine has a top shelf the size of the entire closet. That has a big plastic basket that holds pastas, sugars, flour, pancake mix. The paper bags I want to save are slid in between the wall and that. To the right of that basket are boxes of cereal, a bag of potatoes. Under that shelf is a closet clothes rod, we hang our jackets/sweaters there. Under that on 1 side is the clothes basket to collect dirty laundry. To the right of the clothes basket, and to the rear is laundry soap, bleach, etc. In front of that is a bag of dog food. Doggie treats brush, clippers, shampoo, doggie meds, etc in another plastic tote. I couldn't give up this closet as I have no idea where I would put all this stuff. You are right that closet space wins.
  • I was thinking of using bungie cords also. If you can secure a hook screw on each side wall and then by bungie cords to secure the chairs. They are less than $10 for 3 or 4.

We actually saw this done in a RV at a show. The dealer had done out a used RV with little modifications such as this and adding hooks for coats, towels. All kinds of things we do to our RV. I think it was a great idea of them.
