disposable glove container

I recently attached a .50 Cal. steel ammo box to the end of my bumper on my fifth wheel. Inside I put 2 small plastic coffee cans, paper towels, and hand sanitizer. One coffee can has new disposable gloves and the other is to be used as a small trash container for used gloves and towels. Everything is easy and convenient to get to in one place when dumping the tanks.

Because everybody and their brother would dump all of their garbage in the can creating another issue for staff to deal with.

I became one of the "non-glove" dumpers after two trips in the RV trying to use the disposable gloves. IMHO, I have found that the disposable gloves make my hands sweat inside them. I don't like that. I also have large hands so finding gloves that fit properly was a pain. But more importantly, I also found that when I wore the disposable gloves, I was nonchalant about what I touched because I was protected by the gloves. I would touch the hose and then not notice that I touched my pants or shirt, etc. Then when getting back in the rig, I noticed how dirty my "clean" shirt or pants were. When I don't wear the gloves, I am very conscious of where my hands are and what I am touching. I use the hose to rinse everything off after dumping and then place everything in the storage compartment. I then rinse my hands again with soap and water and then use hand sanitizer. I have also found that I am much faster at the dump station without gloves than with gloves.

But whatever works for you and makes you feel safe and clean.

I not a glove user, but if the box works for you and meets your needs than it is a good idea.

It's funny you mention diaper changing. My DW asked why I wasn't wearing gloves, and in return, I asked her if she wore gloves to change a diaper or wipe her own @#$%. While I thought it was good response to her question, she didn't like my tone.

In the mh we keep our gloves in plastic cans that they used to come in with screw on top. Just over the door in a compartment, for when I fuel up and die keep a can in the wet bay but when going to flush etc I just take the out of the can above the door. A can might hold 100 gloves, as they are pretty thin. Just use one to pump diesel most times. Use two when connecting disconnecting the toad.
Keep pais of alligator piers in wet bay for stupid cheap hoses that leak before I can get new washers in them. Best set up I have seen was a real nice fellow RVer at the factory with large chest with compartments for just about very fitting and tool and so on.

I don't use gloves except for diesel fueling to keep the smell from the Cab.
Soap and water works for me when dumping. The other time I wear them is when I have an open cut on my hand.
Too many Folks worry too much about germs, IMO.

It's a nice idea - to have it all in one little box. Will incorporate this in my other gadgets. It's windy where I am, a roll of paper towel unwinds in a big waving flag and sometimes rolls away altogether, empty grocery bags are flying like seagulls.

I use gloves, but it is because I don't know what others have splashed around the area.

I am a retired healthcare worker, so I know how to remove gloves from my hands leaving the contaminated areas inside the gloves. When I take them off, I lay them on the step inside the truck door until I find a trash can.

The vast majority of the time I do not use gloves but it is nice to have them, paper towels and hand sanitizer handy if I want or need them

I like the comments about changing diapers. A lot of exposure to waste, indeed, and no gloves. I wonder if anybody is using gloves when wiping his own, er... chute 🙂

Nice idea with coffee cans in the box. Will do the same when messing around the outboard motor, changing oil etc. Grocery bag doesn't work well, it won't stay open and sometimes flies away before I need it.

Oops! Maybe I misread this...are you looking for a place to dispose of the used gloves? A small trashcan in side compartment perhaps?

As I said in the original post-"disposable gloves" and a coffee can to use as trashcan for them

I have a small command strips brand hook on the inside of the door where I keep my disposable gloves along with a huge bottle of hand sanitizer. I put a plastic shopping bag from the grocery store on the hook so When I am done, if there are no trash cans around, I just toss the used gloves in the bag

True they usually do not have garbage cans at the dump station but I dont mind the little walk which also allows me to do last minute rig check before I leave. It also takes alot less time than trying to locate the bathhouse to wash my hands.
