F53 Chassis greasing tip.

Those of you with Class As on a Ford chassis who do their own maintenance might want to use this tip. I replaced the straight grease fitting on the rear end of the steering drag link with a 90 degree one. The straight fitting makes you turn the steering to the far right or left since with the wheels pointing straight ahead, the axle prevents the grease gun from reaching the fitting. The 90 lets you hook the grease gun right on. Just eliminates one more step you have to do (generally when you are all greasy and don't want to go inside your coach).

we in the service industry..
have done this to everything since the 1960's.
I remember when car/trucks had 16 grease fittings..

remember when "U" joints had grease fittings.. in the driveshafts ?
or fittings in leaf spring shackle bushings.

the 90 degree cost more money.. and is a little slower to install.....

factories.. have bean counters.. not just Ford.

My grease gun has a swivel, locking tip on it, so no problem getting on those fittings.

Wonder when Ford will catch on? My 95 F53 had the same issue. I did the same as you.
