Getting started on our new RV

I really like mods from simple to complex. Posted a few years ago in our old Itasca 22e. Now we have a bigger playground. I love this new bigger RV already! Look at all this wall space! I put up these coat hooks. Good solid wood behind them too.

And posted on Class C but my first mod on this rig.

Iโ€™ve been searching the forums for ways to manage the basement storage. Never had that before. I am planning to use plastic tubs in the first layer but thinking of building a sliding shelf for a second layer. The area is about 48โ€ deep and wide. Differing heights, it has three levels; a shelf which some folks have used for extra batteries and solar setup I'm reserving it and itโ€™s 23โ€ in height. a side tub that is about 38โ€ x 22โ€ x 14โ€ high with a recessed space beside it about 17โ€ deep by 16โ€ x 9โ€ high and a rear tub that is 24โ€ x 33โ€. x 10โ€ high. I might just use tension shower rods to hold folding chairs etc above the tubs. I know Iโ€™m limited on weight but Iโ€™m underweight carrying a packed RV now just get to move stuff from the closets to the basement! Never use them for clothes. Used duffle bags. ??
Google just repeats the same ideas over and over!!!

I looked at the Lee Valley site and there are several great options for storage and new ideas like rare earth magnet curtain rod holders. Cool.

Iโ€™m a tinkerer so I have random hardware on hand like drawer slides etc. Iโ€™m just gathering ideas. I think the sliding tray is a great idea. I was thinking of using a less expensive Walmart roof rack for the tray and getting a set of long slides from Amazon.

In Canada there is a company in Ottawa, Ontario with outlets all across the country that sells all kinds of net hardware items, drawer slides, closet stuff, etc. You probably have the same type of think in the US. You can built your own drawers, sliders, etc. I built my on battery pull out trays. While Moreryde stuff is pretty cool it is also a bit expensive.
Building your stuff to suit your conditions is quite satisfying and makes your space more functional
