Grill modification (removing regulator) for quick connect?

HELP!

We have found the directions for the Coleman RoadTrip Grill but not the one we just bought and LOVE!

We purchased the Coleman NXT 200 grill. And as we understand it - we need to remove the regulator on the grill and made a modification in order to to make an assembly we can use to hook right into our quick connect already located in the back of our 5th wheel...

So as I know it now. I need to remove the regulator on my Coleman NXT 200. How do I do that? And from there - what do I need to make it modified so we can use our hose we have already that hooks right into our quick connect.

The Home Depot is a mile away and I'm ready to make it happen! Thanks in advance!

I am not familiar with the NXT 200. I have the Coleman LXE and have done the conversion and it works great. I looked at the instruction manual for the NXT but it isn't real clear about the design of the regulator. If it is similar to the Coleman LXE, you might be able to make the conversion quite easily.

On the LXE, you just take vise grips and remove the regulator from the rest of the fitting. Then you purchase a couple of parts and some gas Teflon tape and you are pretty much ready to go.

If I am out at a store where they have a NXT for sale, I'll take a closer look underneath and see what the regulator set up is like, and then I can report back with a bit more information about whether it is similar to the LXE or not.

On our Rockwood the grill it came with was terrible so I did the research to go back to the Weber Q. It was as easy as two screws for the regulator bracket and unscrew the regulator. The quick connect fitting from the original grill just happened to be the right size and it works great!

I've looked for the same, found this link but haven't tried the parts yet. If you happen to find an easy to use adapter for the coleman I'd love to hear about it.

For now I just refill the 1lb bottles at home between trips.

The regulator is built into this grill; it's the thingy that the propane cylinders screw into when you use the portable cylinders. I'm not sure how easy it would be to rig up a safe quick-connect. It appears to me that it should be possible as presumably the orifices and such are not in the same unit as the regulator (since it has separate control knobs for each burner but a single regulator), but it's not at all clear from the manual what sort of fittings and connections are used to attach everything together nor other details of the internal construction.

If your RV quick connect is high pressure (on the tank side of the regulator), all you need is a hose or something that attaches to the grill regulator where the propane cylinder usually attaches. In that case, you'd leave the grill regulator as-is.

Before you change anything, you need to determine if the quick connect on your RV is connected to the high or low pressure side of the regulator.

Failure to determine this properly can result in some really bad things happening.
