Hi there, I understand it is totally okay to use eternabond over lap sealant. My question is that is it okay to put eternabond over lap sealant that was applied 12 hours before? it is still a little mushy.

I applied Eternabond over Dicor but, not until it dryed..
The Dicor will keep the rain out. Let it dry/cure and then apply the E/bond.

Why not put a tarp (with ventilation) over the roof for a short amount of time provided winds are not predicted?

im just asking because i recently finished my entire roof replacement. I put self leveling Lap on the front termination bar. We are supposed to get a decent amount of rain and I was thinking maybe I can put some eternabond over the freshly laid lap. But I think i will just wait it out. besides the lap sealant should be fine im just paranoid

I sure wouldn't. :E If you're talking Dicor self leveling lap sealant then it takes 30 days to cure 100%. I'd expect other products to be similar.

I would wait until the lap sealant is hard. The reason being that the Eternabond is pressure activated. If you put it on when the lap sealant is still "mushy" you run the risk of having the lap sealant moved from where you put it.

I asked him to do one thing and he didn't do any of them.

I heard exactly the opposite. The, now gone, manufacturer of my Hitchhiker FW had roof problems with some new units. I donโ€™t know how they finally solved it but one theory was exactly that.

I would wait until the sealant is completely cured. The tube should tell you how long this will take.

I've never seen this question asked so I'm interested in the answer too.

Just guessing here but I think it should be hard rather than mushy before you put on the Ebond. Of course if you have clean areas of roof on either side of where you intend to put the Ebond so it sticks good, not sure it will bother the sealer as it slowly hardens. But it does have to release gases as it hardens and who knows what those gases might do to the Ebond?

I would not. Why do you feel the need to do twice what should be good now?
