My cabinets over the dinette had 2 doors and blanks between and at the ends. You had to move what was in the doorway to get around to the dead space. I knocked out the blanks and made larger doors from 3/4" plywood. I changed the hinges to the top and installed pistons to make things easier then got the bright idea to cover the doors with maps. There is a place close by that bought thousands on USGS maps when they went digital. I found the area I grew up in and covered the frame first.Then with a second map I covered the doors to line up with the frames.Installed some pulls.There was a slight learning curve but close to hanging wallpaper.

Thanks, no they don't sell online, it's a local surplus walk-in place.

Very nice and creative as well. I imagine lining up the maps on the doors with the frames was challenging, but it looks like you nailed it! Does the map place sell online? I'd like to get similar maps, but frame them for hanging.

It's not just trailers with dead space. I have a 2015 Georgetown (Class A) and both TV's are mounted to the front of a cabinet, with just dead space behind them. They are both on my list to convert. 42" TV in living room is a shallow cabinet, but I could store a lot of DVD's, books, and even my Wii, if it was open.

funny, we've discovered hidden spaces of significant sizes in all of the three trailers we've owned
below the fridge in our first, above the fridge in our second and a huge space in our present trailer, like 24 wide, 18 deep and 36 tall!! weird how the designers don't utilize them.

Sometimes it's easier to just order replacement cabinet doors which may be available in different sizes but perfectly match your existing cabinetry. I've done this with every trailer we've owned, adding doors to the end of the bed platform ...

It's as simple as looking through a few models on the dealer's lot until you find the size of cabinet door(s) you need. :)

I have a workshop and I don't like the doors I have which was half the reason to do something. Somehow Golden Oak scalloped doors doesn't seam all that outdoorsy to me.

My wife doesn't complain about much, I get what your saying about the decor, not for everybody and it looks a little more overwhelming in the pictures but when your in there theres a lot more fabric and cabinetry so it's not that noticeable.
