New Couch for Cougar - hate current one

2011 Keystone Cougar. We 'hate' the current jackknife couch in our Cougar. Want to replace it. We have the measurements. Has any one had the same problem and found a solution. We found a couple we like at a recent RV show, but aren't sure how to find if they are available to sold individually; and how to get one installed near us.

Any suggestions appreciated.

  • Still looking to replace mycouch/jackknife. My problem has been finding a couch or chairs with a small footprint. I only have 33" between the back window wall and the edge of the doorway entry. When opened, if a jackknife, it can come out 60". But the issue is still the 33" footprint. The width can be 67.5".
  • In our Fuzion Toy Hauler the couch/dinette was not comfortable at all. We replaced it with a Laz e boy recliner couch, and use the dinette in the garage.
  • If you want to use the bed and have room for the sofa to open out 74" I don't think you can beat this.

Here is a link to a flyer , Camping Word has them for 1K.
  • We took the couch out of our trailer, and put in 2 easy chairs. MUCH better. Now, if you need the sleeping space, that won't work.
  • We also have a cougar and like you I did not like the couch.
Removed it and took it to a upholstery shop and for $150 had it
    remade.
  • The hardest part is the depth where the slide comes in. We have the same layout in a Fox Mountain. Depth from the back wall is 38" to the face of the slide. Width between the side tables is 67".
The hardest part was finding something narrow and shallow enough.
We ended up with a Power recliner love seat from Best.

We do a lot of dry camping and have a free standing dinette. We move the sofa to the dinette slide and put the dinette in the rear in the summer months when we don't watch tv.
  • Make sure your furnace isn't under the couch. Ours is. You might not have room for a different couch.
  • We purchased a leather, reclining love seat from Costco which replaced our couch almost exactly for size. It was very easy to get into the trailer because the back came off. The old couch was a bit harder to remove.
