So far so good. The whole thing weighs around 5-600lbs my tongue weight is 2500lbs so no problem there. It's very quiet but you can hear it in the kids back bedroom. I will install some acoustic panels to try and get it even more quiet.

Looks great. Let us know how it sounds when you're done. I had something similar fabricated for my trailer years ago. When I loaded my Yamaha 3000 on it and started it up, it set up a deafening resonation in the trailer frame that made it impossible to use. Even though the generator was quiet, and didn't noticeably vibrate, it seemed to be at just the right frequency for making the entire trailer hum and buzz.

Nice add! Question.... how much extra weight does it add & did/do you have to compensate by adding more weight to the tongue?

Nice welding. I did one similar some years ago and I soon learned to add skid wheels at the end of the platform. They drag when entering and leaving gas stations when the section is steep. Good job and even nicer generator.

Here is a better view of the back.

Here is the 6" box welded to both frame rails. You can see in the middle the 2" square tube gussets going to the top 2" croos bar on top of the bumper.

Looks to me like the two outside receivers are probably welded to the frame and the center one is welded to the bumper. Should have zero issues. The taillights not blocked. Looks like the box is several inches to the right of the light.

Not sure what I'm more impressed with, the Gen or the rack. Nice setup.

IMO Unless it is tied into the frames it is doomed for failure. The OEM bumpers are not designed to handle any weight what-so-ever.

It also may be a DOT SAFETY item if the BRAKE LIGHTS are being impaired.

I cringe even having my SPARE MOUNTED on my fifth wheel trailer...

How much weight are you adding to the rear of the trailer. Is this going to effect handling of the trailer as well...

Another idea would the attached frame that has two swivel wheels under it.


Any of these additions will require a beefed-up rear bumper however.
