no more lost sewer hose fix

If you have the square type bumper to store your hoses, and have the square plugs that are 'supposed' to keep the hoses from falling out going down the bumpy road .... here is a sure fire easy cheap fix:

Go buy two 3 inch long 10/32 screws and four nuts. Put 2 nuts on each screw all the way up (this is your handle).

Measure the width of the plastic plug, and drill a hole in the top of the bumper half-way the distance of the width of the plug from the end of the bumper in the center of the bumper. One hole. The hole should be just big enough in diameter to insert the screw. Insert the screw through the bumper and the square plastic plug.

It is now impossible for the hoses to fall out.

Yup... same here

Mine too, but everything has to be rotated just right. You do have to take the fitting off the elbow end and put the cap on.
do you guys have TT's or MH's?

Best solution is dump using the bumper as will get rusty inside and chew up your hose in short order. Best solution is 5" vinyl fence post, 8' length holds of only the hose, it also the fittings including the 90 degree elbow.

How do you make the hose fit in the bumper? I think my bumper must be undersized. I use a Rhino hose, with the bayonet style fittings, they don't even come close to going into the bumper.

Your bumper is the right size.

Sadly the "Rhino fittings are bigger" than the old stinky slinkies and it does not fit into the standard square RV bumper.

For mean it's still worth having the Rhino. WAY easier to attach to sewer opening.

Check DIY forum.

Many people take PVC pipe large enough to accomodate the Rhino hose/fittings and hang it underneath the RV to store their sewer hoses.

Now that I've flipped the axle and have some ground clearance, that sounds like a good idea.

I sort of did the same except used a piece of coat hanger wire instead of a bolt. Just dropped it thru the bumper and cap and counted on gravity to hold it in place, it always stayed.

Exactly the same thing I did (clothes hanger wire), works like a charm.-

That is a cheap and easy fix. My plug is long gone so I looped a piece of wire through the holes in the bumper, it's not pretty but it works.
