Just wanted to update the thread. I recently completed over 1500 miles in 3 days and the TPMS performed flawlessly. :)
My fix with the fuel line collar over the rubber stems worked perfectly - no need to retrofit metal stems.
It was SOOOOO reassuring to know what my temperatures and pressures are at any time and the whole trip was made with the display unplugged. Battery icon still shows full but I do have the 12V cigarette adapter handy.
Interesting to see the differences between the sun side and the shade side, ambient temperatures and rain.
