Slide out awning installation

I just did the install tonight, I to have the fridge issue. I made brackets that screwed above and on side if the fridge vent, It screws into the black 4 in flange surrounding the fiberglass. I can send you a pic later. the awning I used is the standard A&E. I think the homemade bracket is stronger than through the fiberglass as per normal install. The flange is aluminum and then there is an aluminum frame behind that, I wad told by dealers it couldn't be done, and carefree of Colorado say they have an awning that might work but at more than 2x cost of the A&E
