for slide toppers I have had several trailers with Dometics, our current has a Carefree. I'm not so sure on the big slide I would put back on a Carefree when it wears out or gets torn. They all will pool water, the Carefree seems to not drain the water well and will keep it pooled up creating the need to move the slide in and out to get it drained (Carefree instructions no less). Failing to get the pooled water off first has also created the Carefree to stop rolling the roller and bunch up the fabric. It takes two to bring in the slide one to push the button, the other to watch it so it doesn't bunch up the fabric. The Carefree is also catches the slight winds more than the Dometic. I questioned when first using it if it the correct tension, but Carefree states there is no adjustment. That isn't the case with Dometic.
If I am spending my money for a replacement, it will probably be a Dometic.
