Slide topper

I am looking for opinions for what would be a quality slide topper. Not sure if I am in the right forum but thought I would try here. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

8 miles from my house and I didn't even know it. Making a note for my trailer file.
  • for slide toppers I have had several trailers with Dometics, our current has a Carefree. I'm not so sure on the big slide I would put back on a Carefree when it wears out or gets torn. They all will pool water, the Carefree seems to not drain the water well and will keep it pooled up creating the need to move the slide in and out to get it drained (Carefree instructions no less). Failing to get the pooled water off first has also created the Carefree to stop rolling the roller and bunch up the fabric. It takes two to bring in the slide one to push the button, the other to watch it so it doesn't bunch up the fabric. The Carefree is also catches the slight winds more than the Dometic. I questioned when first using it if it the correct tension, but Carefree states there is no adjustment. That isn't the case with Dometic.

If I am spending my money for a replacement, it will probably be a Dometic.
  • We have carefree full awning over our slides. They are heavy canvas and are not as noisy as just having toppers. We also like that shade they provide especially for the bedroom windows.
  • Stone Vos a family own company. Great product and service. You will probably be dealing with the owner.

  • Forgot what we have...A&E, Dometic, Carefree??

but, I like the fact that it has metal protector that rolls around the tube when it is stored. It really protects the fabric from sun and possible abrasions from low branches.
