steel wool and foam to plug holes to prevent mice

Another project on the Wildwood. I have always heard to use steel wool and foam to plug holes so mice cannot enter. Wouldn't the steel react with the copper lines? Should a person just use foam for the holes by the copper lines?

Either one will work because it hurts their fillings when they bite it.:B

I like spray in foam and they make many flavors.

Would Brass and copper react?

What do you think the fittings for the flared copper pipe joints or the flare fittings themselves are made of --- GOLD :S

You're thinking too much;)

To early in the morning. I would delete my last (stupid):S post but to late now. Off to ACE to pick up some brass wool when they open.

I should not post before coffee.:Z

LOL I wish I could blame the coffee aspect for some of my more classic "BRAIN BURPS":B

Honestly I don't even think I would worry about using just plain ole steel wool since it would I think take EONS for any issues to show up from the dissimlar metal standpoint.

I would think a generous application of just foam would be enough. We had some mice getting in the house from ???? and foam under the baseboard in the closet stopped them..
