Thinking about installing a backsplash

I used Smart Tiles. They are sticky and have been up for a year. They look great and go on easy.

You can get them direct...HERE! or you can also get them through Home Depot

There are some new type of tile out. It goes on like peel and stick but then you put just a small amount of grout. You can get it at the big box stores, your choice


Ceramic tile would be awful heavy. It doesn't look like much but pick it up and see what it weighs.

Whatever you choose, have fun doing it and show us before and after pics.

we just use Plexiglas and hold them up with mirror holders.

We put a backsplash up in our kitchen (or really my hubby did). It came out great, and has traveled with no problem. I detailed the steps and materials we used on my blog.

Good idea. Hadn't thought of that. In fact I could put up a piece of clear plastic held by Velcro in the corners. Then I could take them off easily for cleaning/replacement and there's no holes in the walls.

Some or maybe most of the home supply/building supplies and others that sell stone and synthetic counter topcan cut you piece, of granite or whatever or heavy simulated stuff. Simply glue it on and hold in place for a bit.
Wife brought several samples of the tin and little tile pieces on a sheet home and none of them looked good to us. If you see what you like glue it on.

I also used Smart Tiles. We purchased them through Home Depot. They look like real tile, stay up well and don't add any weight. Most people can't tell it is not real tile even if they look close.

I did our back splash using Broan baked on aluminum back splash material that you buy in sheets. Comes in several colors / stainless. It was posted in 10/2013 under the improvements section on this site. Has some links to pics. Not sure how to link that post here? Maybe someone can help with that.

Anyway, we thought about tile / mosaic but decided the ride down the road might not be good for it long term. Plus it seemed a bit over the top for a small TT. Went the less expensive easy to clean route.

I use Smart tile and I am very happy with the results.It change the looks of the the all kitchen.

I used granite as I used granite on my countertop. Worked for me.
