I want to make a convenient storage for fishing poles. I have thought about something in the same line as a fencepost several have built for their sewage hoses.Before I launch into the project, has anyone come up with other ideas I could steal oops! I mean borrow?It only takes one careless match to start a forest fire. Yet somehow it takes a whole box of matches to start a campfire.

My last camper, I just stuck 2 over-sized Command Hooks on the wall on the inside of the cubby storage area accessed through the outside hatch. That worked perfectly fine for 8 years. Of course, I had only 1 fishing pole too.

one possibility would be to mount horizontal rod holders on the roofs of compartments to hang them from. do not hang with the reels if they put any bend into the rods while hanging.I have made storage tubes out of PVC pipe with a screw plug end in them.bumpy

I made the pole holder the same as the hose holder except I used the 4" round pipe for the poles.

I screwed 2 4" long J hooks inside the closet above the sliding mirror doors in our fiver. I told my wife I was going to put the fishing rods inside and she said put them in your storage. They fit perfect up there and she never noticed untill I Told her where they were.I face one rod one direction and the other rod the other direction.

I just installed rod holders vertically right inside my front door. They sit on the floor and the tips go into those gripper thingys. We previously tried the PVC pipe thing but you really had to take the reels off to make it work well. We cut slots for the reels but I was nervous about the reels hanging down and getting bumped.

Do you have one of the slide drawers in the basement? If so ours has a space about 6" wide between the drawer and the wall and it goes all the way across. Several rods store nicely there.

I have also used plastic gutter downspout material cut to various lengths and plugged the back end with rigid foam. I have store all sorts of small things like fish poles (with reels removed).

I had the same problem with my spinning rods and reels however my 2 fly rods and reels stay in the PVC tubes without vibrating out because the reels are at the very end of the rod butt. I keep my spinning rods in my rear compartment against the wall with holders I made with 1 in by 1 in split Al tubing along with my rubber raft, life jackets and other fishing supplies. They all stay in place while traveling.

I have done this as well. I mounted several on the celing of the garage for rod storage.

Some good ideas here, thanx. No room in my storage as its small and filled with tools and misc equip. Not sure DW wouldn't have a fit if they are exposed in any way, we'll see.
