What length fence post?

I already have mounted one for a sewer hose. How long of a post do I need for water hose or power cord storage? I have a choice of 7 or 8 ft and really don't want to cut one down if it won't fit under the RV. Unfortunately, it's in storage and I can't measure the width.

Need-a-vacation: I keep the RV in storage. I'll take a chance on theft. I've locked up everything else...propane tanks, cargo rack, etc.

For now, I'm folding them in thirds and stuffing it as I wanted to get it done prior to going on vacation. Some folks are using the coiled water hose but I don't have that type. I have a 25 ft. water hose and a 25 ft 30 amp power cord. I got the idea from someone else's posting. I experimented with folding each one in thirds and stuffed one in each storage post and they each fit in the 7 ft length. I was carrying them in a storage box on the bumper as I have limited compartment storage in the travel trailer. This will free up some space for some lighter items. I may use one for fishing poles in the future.

Thanks to everyone for your help. I tested the fit with a 7 foot and they worked for the water hose and power cord. If I decide to store my fishing poles in one of them, they fit too.

How are you keeping the water hose and power cord in there without getting bunched up/tangled? Are you using a 4" gutter as a tray and laying the hose/ cord in it? How many feet of hose do you have stored in it? How much cord?

Do you keep your tt at the house, or store it somewhere? My concern would be theft, but I guess if they want it they will get it! Right!!!???

TY!

Most trailers are 8 feet wide... I used a 7 feet length - just right it recesses 6 inches from the skirt on each side.

The Rockwood 8329SS is listed as having an exterior width of 96". Sounds to me like you want an 8' post.

Downtheroad - thanks for posting a picture.

2oldman - Sorry, I should have been more specific. Many of us are using vinyl fence posts which are hollow for storage under the RV. I was in a hurry when typing my message!
BTW- I'm a big John Wayne fan!

I guess we all know what a fence post is now haha...
Thanks DOWNTHEROAD....

Being a JOHN WAYNE fan I was thinking about him jumping a fence where he says "come visit a fat old man sometime" - jumps the fence with his horse and rides off into the sunset...

Fence Post...
I'd go with 8'. You can never have too much 'fence post.'
