I've read were guys have received quotes from dealers and private shops for gear axle ratio changes, if memory serves me correct, the rear axle was around $2,200 and do not remember the front axle cost, that is if he has 4x4.
Search around on the Cummins forum this is where I've seen a few threads discussing axle ratio changes.
