Getting sick. Brand new, 1 month old and rubber roof is lifting on seams and in other random spots. I will try to post pics but not sure I will figure that out. My big concern is if this is normal. If it is a problem I want to put the dealer and Forest River on notice. Thanks a lot. Please advise.

We’ve only been using 5th wheels for 25 years (4 different campers), and have “never” seen that! I think that it’s “piss-poor” quality control by Forest River....and they are avoiding fixing their shoddy work!

Well I’m sure glad I’m starting to see everyone is having the same roof and no long term issues, I’m going traveling and not thinking about what I can’t see, and thanks for all the help.

Looks better than mine. I have several spots and it is rounding 13 years and they are still the same.

Every aspect of RV trailers are engineered towards cost savings because most people want to pay less. So why the surprise when things are not what you expect, but you are more than happy to screw the dealer or mfg. as much as possible. Then after owning the cheap rig, many become brand loyalists which does not help to improve the industry. Reminds of the auto industry decades ago when they produced junk until Japan introduce more reliable automobiles. Then Detroit started to produce better autos because of competition from Japan. Competition is what causes improvement.....

lakenox,

I had a '97 Chevy K1500 w/a 350ci motor. Engine developed a "ticking" sound which could be heard at idle. GM said that it was normal piston slap. WTH ???

Pbounds....that’s a big relief. There is a few spots in between the joints, but not bad.

Both of those spots look like they are along sheathing sheet edges. If those are representative, I don't think it is a problem nor will it get worse. Not pretty to look at, but that's about the limit of the issue.

Laxnox. Well said. I can see before my warranty is up, I’ll be contacting my attorney. If it gets worse
My attorney will have more on our side. I wish people would start class action lawsuits and then maybe the RV business would have happy campers. The problem I see is they think money grows on trees. They charge enough,

This is the response I just got back from Cedar Creek.
below was the answer I got from the factory. Let me know if there is anything else you need. Have a great day!

"The pictures just show air under the rubber that is perfectly normal and shows that the rubber is air tight."

My response to them would be, "while it's normal, it just shows the lack of care and professionalism by the people on the floor installing the roof, the supervisors who allow this, the QC people who pass it and the management who think this is 'perfectly normal'". IIRC, the Forest River =owners' manual= states that it's "normal" to see staples, nail and screw heads and CONSTRUCTION TRASH under the roof membrane. Can you imagine? They're so lazy that they can't even make sure staples, nails and screws are flush or to blow the sawdust and other stuff off the roof sheeting before they cover it with the membrane, and then state that's "normal"?! :M
